Progress was definitely made. I will agree with a former reviewer that the bits pertaining to the steps of progress made it a tad more distracting.

I also posted a video that just contains the final animation if you prefer that. ;)
Pretty good. I always love the dark turn.

An accurate description of me trying to watch your video. Your description didn't lie when it said "fast-paced." I had trouble even catching up with all the goodies left behind.
Your focus tends to be on potty humor and the use of bloodshed. Which, when repeated over short periods of time, gets stale quickly. You find a balance (later on) between potty humor and clever observations (I appreciated the Celebi knock) that makes the video all the more enjoyable. The cartoonish animation is also very appealing.
If you voiced the main character, I thought for a moment that this was LyleMcDouchebag. Very similar sounding voices, if this not being the case.
thanks for the critique man! I'll work towards finding that balance in future vids
I hate the source material, but the execution was humorous.
Animation was stuttery-smooth, in a charming way. Though, when Mord- Falco came in and "rekt" the place, it kind of devolved into... huh?
T'was a decent watch.
There are some clever jokes in here (Pikachu nipple cheeks), and the ending is successfully twisted. Though, there are other jokes that feel overused (DBZ reference) and tone down the mood for the twist at the end. In fact, I think that may be my biggest complaint about the whole thing: the ending is dark, but the entire video teeter-tots between comedy/parody and clever, dark humor, so it seems undetermined.
The animation, I thought, was a little shaky at times. But good altogether. The ending made this video stand out from many others of its kind.
That's quite an opinion you have there, thanks for sharing it. Though I would like to say that the video tone shifting to darkness from a quirky start was on purpose.
Your animation has certainly improved. I'm just wishing this was more than a single joke.
I see a lot of people commenting on the animation of this video, and I find it a tad peculiar. Of all the videos submitted to Newgrounds, this video gets all the flak? While it's not spectacular, it's not terrible either. I saw the word "stiff" thrown in there, and that's a word I would whole-heartedly describe this video with. The animation does indeed feel stiff, while a variety of jokes within the video try to make you stiff as well. I think that's the thing that stands out most; sex appeal and violence. While far more violent than sexy, this video feels almost like a pseudo-parody, transcending itself into a completely different franchise, despite the Mario appearance.
The jokes are trivial and rarely funny. Bowser using Toad's head as a mushroom is admittedly the funniest thing I've seen today. Other than that, I can't say this video did anything for me in terms of humor. I wouldn't think someone who found this funny would be turned-on by blood spatter and Happy Tree Friend styled deaths, hmm? On top of that, they're fairly repetitive. Character gets an item. They react to it. They die. Joke over. The only one I thought was clever (albeit not funny) was the arrival of the blue shell. However, this only makes the already unfunny and dragged out theme of death in the video come full circle.
The voice acting is below average. But the biggest problem with it altogether is that the voices are far too quiet in comparison to the overall sound of this video. I had to turn up my laptop's volume quite a bit to even hear the characters' voices within earshot. Getting back to the voice acting, it didn't sound like much effort was put into it. Was that but another parody element? Of course, with the limited amount of voice acting in the video anyway, it's hard to really gauge it.
It was entertaining for what it was worth, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone even close to my age range. I see it more alluring to those within the early teenage years, when they're starting to get acclimated to seeing gore and sex for the first time. I'll appreciate the effort put into it, but the end result leaves much to be desired.
I liked the story progression. I think that and the innocent humor were what really shined in this short. The animation took some liberties during certain parts (casting the fishing rod), but for the most part, was executed quite nicely in regards to Animal Crossing physics. I thought the voice acting was fine overall, but didn't feel realistic during the more dramatic parts. Entertaining is a good word to describe this tale. And I'm glad I watched it.
Gee, you sure like tits, don't you?
